There are many elements that make up a ‘Sabre Connected Package’. (Unlike many other GDS companies, Switch is also happy to allow hardware provided by Sabre to be loaded with software from any other GDS provider, in accordance with minimum segment target agreements.)

1. Marketing Opportunities: Sabre will be very high profile in the media over the coming year and Sabre Connected agents will benefit from being referenced in such advertising as well as being able to service customers responding to such advertising. Switch will also produce and finance co-branded items such as agency ticket jackets, corporate gifts and corporate brochures for businesses under this package element.

 

2. Technology Solutions: This is the biggest area of strength that the partnership between SWITCH and Sabre offers the market. Solutions can include hardware, network infrastructure and security, website development and hosting, personalized domain registrations for company email accounts as well as provision of back office/front office products such as Switch Software’s industry leading ‘FIESTA’ which features automated BSP reconciliation and real time import from all the major GDS systems.

 

3. Agent Training and Development: There is clearly a need for any staff using a GDS to be confident, capable and skilled in its use in order to get the best out of it for their customers and ensure that they are not creating errors that costs the company money. Switch are committed to ongoing training at The Client’s request and providing IATA training courses as well as SABRE training courses when and where appropriate.

 

Extra Earnings

 

Switch also offers the ‘Sabre Incentives’ points scheme, (SIPS), under which Switch will reward both the desk agent and the agency for all bookings made in Sabre. This scheme will be similar to a frequent flyer scheme with agents earning personal points for each PNR they book in the Sabre system as well as contributing to their agency’s Points Pool. Points can be cashed in by agents for prizes and promotional items. Agency points contribute towards their ‘Sabre Solutions’ points balance.

 

 

When The Client’s segment share in Sabre reaches 70% of the total volume Switch will begin discussions on becoming an Exclusive Sabre Connected agency. As such, The Client will become eligible for an additional fixed incentive fee per segment on top of the SIP and SSP schemes previously mentioned.

 

‘Exclusively Sabre Incentives’ (ESI) will be drawn on a sliding scale and based upon an agency’s potential volume and will range from 40 cents to $1 per segment.

 

CASH Giveaways

 

Finally, in addition to the SSP, SIP and ESI schemes Switch will also be running the Sabre Lucky PNR raffle on a weekly and monthly basis. PNR Record Locators that match a predefined pattern will win a 5KD voucher or 10KD cash prize for the agent who made the reservation. Each month there will be a qualifying PNR code to look out for. A "First to Find" monthly PNR code will also carry a 25KD prize for the agent.
