International Low-Fare Search Study Summary – Global Results
Studies-* conducted by Topaz International-**, an independent research group, have proven that the Sabre® global distribution system is the industry leader in finding the lowest available fares across the following international regions – Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Below is a summary of the study, which compared the Sabre system to its primary GDS competitors in a variety of categories.
Low-fare Comparison
In the fall of 2004, Topaz International performed a study of sample airfares in 142 city pairs, most of which were non-U.S. -based. The results revealed that the Sabre system proves to be the international leader vs. all three of its GDS competitors in finding the lowest fares.
Here’s how the Sabre system performed versus the competition on a global scale:

Conclusion
The results have proven the Sabre system’s superiority in finding the lowest fares more frequently than Amadeus, Galileo and Worldspan:
· Versus Amadeus – The Sabre system found the same or lower fare 72% of the time, saving an average of $188 when it found a lower fare, compared to only $135 savings when Amadeus found the lower fare.
· Versus Galileo -- The Sabre system found the same or lower fare 75% of the time, saving an average of $217 when it found a lower fare, compared to only $96 savings when Galileo found the lower fare.
· Versus Worldspan -- The Sabre system found the same or lower fare 74% of the time, saving an average of $234 when it found a lower fare, compared to only $162 savings when Worldspan found the lower fare.
* -- Study performed by Topaz; data analyzed by Sabre Travel Network. The top 100 markets based on average number of bookings (both offline and online) were identified across four key international regions – Asia-Pacific, Canada, EMEA and Latin America. Both international and U.S. origin and destination cities were used across all regions. Eight advance purchase scenarios were analyzed (3-, 7-, 14-, and 21-day with and without a Saturday night stay). A $5 variance difference was allotted in determining lowest fares to address differences in taxes and service fees. All dollar amounts shown are U.S. dollars.
